DelArs Restauri interviene a Teramo, occupandosi dei prospetti interni ed esterni dell’ex Monastero di San Giovanni. Gli interventi riguarderanno la conservazione degli elementi lapidei, degli apparati decorativi e il restauro degli intonaci storici.
Anche sulle strutture lignee e sugli arredi dell’ex convento DelArs Restauri opererà con elevata professionalità, avvalendosi delle restauratrici specializzate dell’impresa.
Per le attività di conservazione e restauro saranno impiegate tecniche innovative, precedute da un’accurata campagna diagnostica sui beni culturali, con l’obiettivo di restituire alla città di Teramo il proprio patrimonio storico-architettonico pienamente valorizzato.
L’ex Monastero di San Giovanni a Teramo, situato in Piazza Verdi (rione Santa Maria a Bitetto), è un complesso storico di grande rilevanza. Oggi sede del Conservatorio musicale “Gaetano Braga”, è oggetto di importanti lavori di restauro e recupero, finanziati anche con fondi governativi e provinciali, finalizzati alla valorizzazione del suo patrimonio culturale, inclusi il chiostro e la Sala Celestiniana, e alla restituzione della piena funzionalità degli spazi destinati all’attività didattica.
Restauri Chiostro Ex Convento Teramo
Fondato nel 1384 come convento femminile, il complesso inglobò nel Cinquecento il soppresso Monastero di San Giovanni a Scorzone, unificando storie e benefici. Nel corso dei secoli ha subito numerose trasformazioni, in particolare in epoca barocca, pur conservando il prezioso chiostro trecentesco e l’imponente facciata su Piazza Verdi. Divenuto nel tempo sede di istituzioni culturali e musicali, l’edificio ha inoltre risentito dei danni causati dal sisma del 2016, rendendo necessari gli attuali interventi di recupero.
DelArs Restauri is working in Teramo, focusing on the internal and external façades of the former Monastery of San Giovanni. The interventions will involve the conservation of stone elements, decorative features, and the restoration of historic plasterwork.
DelArs Restauri will also operate on the wooden structures and furnishings of the former convent with high professional expertise, relying on the company’s specialized restorers.
For conservation and restoration activities, innovative techniques will be employed, preceded by a thorough diagnostic survey of the cultural assets, with the aim of returning Teramo its fully enhanced historical and architectural heritage.
The former Monastery of San Giovanni in Teramo, located in Piazza Verdi (Santa Maria a Bitetto district), is a historically significant complex. Today home to the “Gaetano Braga” Music Conservatory, it is undergoing important restoration and recovery works, also funded by government and provincial grants, aimed at enhancing its cultural heritage—including the cloister and the Celestinian Hall—and restoring the full functionality of spaces dedicated to educational activities.

Founded in 1384 as a female convent, the complex incorporated in the 16th century the suppressed Monastery of San Giovanni a Scorzone, unifying histories and endowments. Over the centuries, it underwent numerous transformations, particularly during the Baroque period, while preserving the precious 14th-century cloister and the imposing façade on Piazza Verdi. Over time, it became the seat of cultural and musical institutions. The building was also affected by the 2016 earthquake, making the current recovery interventions necessary.
